Michael Cunningham ‘Flesh And Blood’

I only know of Michael Cunningham through ‘The Hours’ and while I enjoyed that book I never even considered to read more works written by him. Which I lately realized is an error on my side. I should seek more (if not all) books by the authors I already know I enjoy.
‘Flesh And Blood’ found its way to me in Madrid last spring. I didn’t question long whether I should buy it or not. I already had been infected with the book buying virus.
It seems that lately I am reading a lot of books on family saga, and I find it very interesting to compare them. The characterization, language, means the writers choose to express things, the mood. There is one common thing I am taking from them and it is realization of the transience of life. Mainly, putting a lot of effort and energy into having material things that eventually do not really matter at the end.
